Under a Discretionary Trust, the settlor gives the trust property to trustees, with the power to appoint the property out of the trust fund amongst a particular class of beneficiaries as they see fit. The trust does not stipulate the amount that should be paid out to any particular beneficiary or the time at which the appointments are to be made.
